Enjoy hiking with a holiday villa in Puerto Pollensa

Mallorca is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the whole of Europe, which year after year attracts more and more visitors. It offers idyllic beaches and stunning landscapes with an all year round pleasant climate. At Cabot Hotels we have some of the best villas available to rent in Puerto Pollensa which are the perfect starting point for enjoying a hike along one of the many picturesque trails in the north of Mallorca. In this article we will be telling you about some of our favourite hiking trails which are not too far from our villas in Puerto Pollensa.

The Puig de Maria

The Puig de Maria is one of the most famous spots in the north of Mallorca. Located only 7 kilometres from the Puerto Pollensa it is only a short car journey from our holiday villas. This hike is around 2 kilometres long, although it may seem like a short trip, it is a steep ascent and can take around 45 minutes to complete, so it is a little more challenging. However the hike is definitely worth it once you reach the top as you will find a historic monastery dating back to the 15th century and panoramic views of the beautiful Mallorcan landscape.

La Victoria Hermitage to the Atalaya de Alcudia

La Victoria Hermitage is located in Alcudia, which is less than 10 kilometres from our holiday villas in Puerto Pollensa. This route offers two hikes, some visitors decide to start at the bottom of the trail and walk up to the starting point where you can enjoy some amazing coastal views as you head up. The start of the hike can also be reached by car for if you prefer not to hike up the road side, at the top you will find a spacious car park where you can get ready for the hike ahead. This trail takes around 5 hours from start to finish and is 12 kilometres in length, if you’re doing the full trek; starting from the hermitage it takes for going up and coming down almost 2 hours. As you navigate your way through the woodland walk you will be able to see some of the local wildlife which includes goats and native birds. Once at the top of the Atalaya de Alcudia you can experience panoramic views of the bay of Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa.

Cala Boquer

Cala Boquer is located in the same area as our holiday villas, in Puerto Pollensa. This hike is fairly low intensity and can be enjoyed during any time of the year. It is only a 6.5 kilometre round trip and is a mostly flat trail where you can enjoy sightings of some native birds to Mallorca, such as Booted eagles and Blue Rock Thrushes. After a pleasant walk through the valley you will arrive at a stunning rock beach where you can relax or even take a dip in the crystal clear waters. This route is perfect for families and those of you who want to take in the beauty of Mallorca but at a slower pace.
